Spring Sports are starting next week! If you are in a fall or winter sport and hoping to stay in shape for it, consider joining the FHE Track and Field team! The Track and Field team is a friendly and supportive community and so much fun. There is no prior experience necessary, so don’t be afraid to try something new! You will improve your speed, endurance, and vert, which can help with your performance in the fall and winter.
There are so many events you can compete in: the 100m sprint, 1600m, high jump, long jump, pole vault, shot put, discus, and many more. There’s something for everyone! Last year, I did the 300m hurdles, 400m, high jump, and long jump. The meets are so much fun because you get to watch almost all the events and cheer on your teammates.
“My favorite thing is the people because they’re all so nice and welcoming and they make track really fun,” says Elena Jacobson (‘25). Elena LeCompte (‘25) says that her favorite part of the last track season was when “Sophie Parker (’22) brought two homemade cakes and we just got to eat them the entire practice.”
Track and Field is so much fun and you get to meet so many nice people. Practices start next Monday (March 13th) if you’re interested in joining!
