Victory for Varsity Volleyball

Tuesday night, the Girls Varsity Volleyball team faced off against Ottawa Hills at home – pulling off an impressive victory at the end of the night. How do they do it? Well, the team will tell you, it’s their community and support for one another that helps them play their best and prepare for their games.

The volleyball team warms up before their game.

The moment I walked into the gym, through the sounds of squeaking shoes and the thuds of the volleyballs, I could sense the team’s compassion and support for one another and the genuine excitement and passion they share for the game. As I spoke to the team, I found a resounding and unanimous agreement that the community is what inspires them to play their best and keeps the game interesting. “My favorite thing about volleyball is the community it’s created with all these girls throughout the program,” explained Kennedy Hoffman (‘22). The sentiment was corroborated by others on the team including Tori Brown (‘22) expressing “I’ve loved being able to get closer with my teammates.” The tightly knit bonds among the team members were evident during the game as they collaborated,  communicated, made clean passes to one another, and rallied behind their teammates. So make sure to grab your friends and head on over to the next volleyball game to see the team’s spirit and enthusiasm for yourself!
